A largely overlooked but important aspect of internal communications and working from home involves an employee becoming alarmed or paranoid because of communications missteps. It is easy to assume the worst when you’re working from home and you’ve been left off an email communications string or not invited to attend (yet another) Zoom meeting. Communication is key to keeping colleagues focused on their work, and not on whether its time to looking for their next assignment. Part of a sound internal communications strategy is to make sure that your distribution lists are current and we suggest that short, frequent communication can keep employees focused, engaged and assured that they are part of the team.
